For those of us traveling to the mountains, accommodation consists in humble but inviting cottages, usually with a rustic feel. This mountain home however took us by surprise with its modern architecture, pool and sauna. The Bowen Mountain house comes from CplusC Architecture and is located in New South Wales, Australia. Meant as a weekend-escape, this home combines the comfort of contemporary living with that of being a part of nature. Here is more information on the construction from the architects: “New and recycled Australian hardwoods were used to frame the steel structure. Soft-toned grey steel used for the dramatically angled roof blends with the muted tones of the surrounding bush. Glass was used extensively throughout the home, with dramatic effect. The structure seems to almost hover over the site and indoor and outdoor spaces merge seamlessly.” Does this not seem like the ultimate weekend refuge?
